PokePark2: Wonders Beyond Release

This Friday March 23th sees the release of PokePark2: Wonders Beyond released for wii. The sequel to last years PokePark Adventure sees Pikachu teaming up with the Unova Starters to investigate a brand new PokePark when other pokemon start to disapear.

We’ve gotten news that on Saturday 24th, if you happen to be in the London Area, the Brent Cross store of Toy’s R Us are doing a treasure hunt competition were 25 lucky people can win a copy of the game. Action starts from 10am and there’s some other goodies as well up for grabs – check in that store for details. Unfortunatly it seems to be the only store doing this event, so if your not in the area, then your out of luck.

If your interested in PokePark2 and want to know more, check out these trailers first. Some of them feature some really cheesy music – which is something I personally like (am I the only one who misses the pokeraps?)

Poképark Wii Game set for Euro Launch

Hurray, some news to update with.

Nintendo of Europe today announced a release date for Pokepark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure on Wii. This has been rumoured to have been translated into English for a while since it was found to have gone to a governing body in Australia for a rating. However it’s the European version which has been set for release so far.

In PokePark Wii, you play as Pikachu exploring a Pokémon theme park, teaming up with other with other Pokémon to be able to ride on the rides. Traveling through areas such as Beach Zone, Iceburg Zone, Lava Zone, Haunted Zone and more, you’ll and your new Pokémon friends will take part in rides/events such as Rhyperior’s Bumber Brun, Salamance’s Air Slash, Venasaur’s Vine Swing, Gyarados’ Aqua Dash and many more.

The game will be in stores across Europe on July 9th. It is still only rumoured for an Australian/New Zealand release of June and no release date of any kind for America

we’ll bring you more news when we can

First post of the new year

It’s the first post of 2010 on The Pika Club’s blog and…there’s not much news to be had, unfortunately. Nintendo Europe has failed to announce their Arceus event and there’s no word of their Q1 release schedule yet.

The only news we managed to scrape up is, according to Nintendo, the Nintendo DS is now the best selling video game console in Europe with over 40 million units sold. An impressive figure no doubt but the Wii is fast on its pace with 20 million units in the space of just over three years.

The Pika Club forums have been doing well with an unprecedented level of activity as of late. Why not join in?

Just A Quick Post

Here’s just a quick update to mention that the release of Pokémon Rumble, the WiiWare Pokémon based mash-em-up game recently released in America, will be available to download in Europe on the 20th of November. The game will be priced the same as it is in the US at 1,500 points. Any Passwords for Japanese or American versions will NOT work on a european version, as each version has its own set of passwords.

In forum related news… The Pika Club is now 10 years old, so Happy Birthday to us. We’ ve been around in many different forms in the past 10 years, but our love of Pokémon keeps going strong. So drop by the forums and say Happy Birthday TPC in the related thread in the Newbies area, and check out the General Chat section from Sunday where we’ll have a brand new forum competition

Until Next time…

New Pokémon Wii Game Announced

Sorry about the lack of updates to the news blog recently, amongst thinking I posted something earlier but didn’t (see the end of this post for more on that), I’ve been a bit busy. However, do look for a new competition in the general chat section of the forums this Sunday (18th)

Nintendo officially announced a new Pokémon Wii game today. Poképark Wii: Pikachu’s Big Adventure see’s the most famous Pokémon roaming around a giant amusement park called the Poképark. Pikachu will want to have a go on some of the rides, but unfortunately, a lot of the rides require Pokémon abilities Pikachu just doesn’t possess. The Marine Slider game needs a Pokémon who’s good at swimming to fully enjoy it, and only a flying Pokémon can partake in the Habataki Sky Race.

So what’s a yellow mouse Pokémon to do? Well make friends of course. By teaming up with other Pokémon that are visiting the park, you’ll be able to play mini games with them to become friends, allowing you team up and take on the rides. Mini games include playing a game of tag, battling your soon to be friend, and taking part in a quiz, answering questions on Pokémon.

Being able to take pictures in game and save them to an SD card (and possibly send them to your Wii friends) and with graphics far better than the likes of Pokémon Ranch or Pokémon Rumble (we’ll try and get some pictures for you soon), this looks to be a good, fun title for the Wii. Poképark Wii: Pikachu’s Big Adventure will be released in Japan on December 5th. No details about an English release yet.

As for the next piece of news, I was sure I updated with this, but it seems like I haven’t. Sorry. Anyway, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky has been given a European release date of November 20th. The third Mystery Dungeon game on DS, recently released in the US, features some additional maps, starters and partners from the previous two instalments, plus some other updated features.

That’s all we have for now. We’ll bring you more when we know it.

Even More Pokemon WiiWare

As reported here the other day, rumours have been abound as to whether the three Myster Dungeon WiiWare games were real or if the scan was a photoshot fake. Today, the Official Japanese Pokemon Site officially announced the 3 games are coming to WiiWare in Japan. The games are titled Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Keep Going! Blazing Adventure Squad!, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Let’s Go! Stormy Adventure Squad! and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Go For It! Light Adventure Squad!

Nothing else is known about these games for now, we’ll let you know when it is known.

New Pokemon Game Announced

And No, it’s NOT about Heart Gold/Soul Silver.

This is one that passed by E3, possibly due to the fact that at the moment, its only planned in Japan. The official Japanese Pokemon site has revealed that Pokemon is coming back to WiiWare on June 16 with Melee! Pokemon Scramble, a beat em up featuring a variaty of Pokemon. Modes include a Battle Royal where all Pokemon fight in an arena and a Story Mode, described as levels that end in a Giant Pokemon Boss Battle. multiplayer features a 2 player Co-Op and up to 4 player Staidum mode. You’ll also be able to take screen shots and send them to friends via the Wii’s message board

Players will be able to fully control thier Pokemon around the arenas and chose what attacks to use and when, its said that each Pokemon will have 2 special moves. More Pokemon to play as will be unlocked as you play through the story mode, as well as password being given out for more rarer Pokemon. The whole game will set Japanese Wii owners 1500 points
