Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday the National Park north of Goldenrod City hosts a Bug Catching Contest. It’s free to participate and functions much like the Safari Park.
How does it work?
You can only bring one Pokémon into the park with you, so try to choose one with moves that can cause status effects as you’ll be trying to catch Pokémon. Like the Safari Zone, you’ll be given 20 special Park Balls with which to catch the strongest bug Pokémon that you can.
The contest ends once you either run out of Park Balls or leave the National Park via either route gate. Try to catch highly evolved Pokémon for the best shot at winning.
