BAD EGGS! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!

Post by Mad Alex »

EVERYONE who owns Pokemon RUBY, SAPPHIRE, FIRERED, LEAFGREEN OR EMERALD MUST know this,
ESPECIALLY if they use the GAMESHARK or the ACTION REPLAY.
This needs to be stickied as a warning!

Not many people know about Bad Eggs. If you want to know more go to
http://www.trsrockin.com./badegg.html. (Sorry, use bottom link. This one does not work...)
Anyway, a Bad Egg can appear in your Ruby, Sapphire, Firered, Leafgreen or Emerald game pak in three ways.

1. Complete chance. Usually these Bad Eggs are user freindly though.

2. Sharking or using the Action Replay too much on your game.

3. By Sharking or using the Action Replay to get Nintendo Event Legends.

These are the virtually harmless things a Bad Egg can do. A Bad Egg
will usually not do more than one thing, but it is not unheard of to do more.

1. Hatch into another Bad Egg.

2. Never hatch at all.

3. Learn Thunderpunch and suddenly be able to battle.

These are Bad Eggs that cause serious damage. Usually obtained by
Gameshark or Action Replay accidentally. Posibilities marked with a #
don't go away when you delete your game. The damage can be permanent.

1. Hatch into MissingNo. Yes, it does sound crazy, but there is a 3rd
generation version of MissingNo. It looks like an empty dex space. (Circle with ? inside) Then
freeze your game.

#2. When you move it around in your boxs it leaves duplicates of itself in
the space that it was moved from.

#3. Easily the worst. It starts to morph all your Pokemon into other Bad
Eggs.In the end, It gets all your Pokemon. Not even a :Rayquaza: is safe
from the Bad Egg infection.
:Edit: (Sorry, I meant it can take over the day care and swallow up you're pokemon like that.)

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR GAME IS INFECTED.
If your game is infected, there is only one known way to get rid of them,
and it's only a shear roumer, It may not even work... You need Pokemon
Box for Nintendo Gamecube and manually remove them using the gigantic
P.C storage system.

Again, If you are scepticle, visit http://www.trsrockin.com./badegg.html for proof. If you had an
experience with a Bad Egg, post it here. The more info put here, the more
we can protect ourselves from what is parhaps Nintendo's way (You heard right!) of
punishing Shark and Action Replay users.
Sorry, but I think just a few of these things are wrong, please bear with me, I'll remove them if they are.

You should always double check your AR codes. The ?? is perfectly safe, and can only learn tackle.

Also, Never use an action replay or shark your game to hatch a bad egg. I've heard bad things about doing that too, apparently.

It's very interesting actually. I had/have one of those in my Ruby version. I think I got it while using a Jirachi code. I haven't even bothered to try to hatch it yet, and nothing bad has happened to the game either. You guys really lost me when you started talking about ? pokemon though. I've never seen any of those.

The ? pokemon is really the r/s version of MissingNo. The game would not hold together properly without it.

Seems like a good reason not to use any kind of cheat device to me.

Besides, more fun to do it the hardway in my opinion.

I dont see why Nintendo would program bad eggs in pokemon games. I mean half the fun in games in glitch up your games(In my point of view anyway) plus once you buy your game, it sould be your to do whatever with, I really dont know why nintendo would use up some of there time programing bad eggs. Especially when they can sometimes hatch into ninetendo's legendary glitch missinno.

I had a bad egg at one point, from using the AR to catch unknown. ((too many...)) Supposily, the bad eggs WEREN'T programed by nintendo. Think about it. Why would nintendo infect its own system to prevent cheating and hacking? My AR works fine with me, and i think I got the bad egg from a trade with a person with a gameshark. I only use the AR for pokemon cheats, nothing else.... well.... except for the infinite master balls and rare candies... >_< Anyway... I have never heard about it hatching, and my ruby and sapphire are fine, but if it DOES hatch, I'll use my friend's ruby, get a bad egg, and hatch it. I wanna see what happens.

It may be just a matter of luck wether you get one. Your probably far more likely to receive it if your cheating for Jirachi/Deoxys.

Wrong. I got a Jirachi and a Deoxys without getting a bad egg. It seems Gamesharks are more likely to give bad eggs.

3 things can happen when you hack games: ?? appears (safe "Missingno.") and knows only tackle, glitched dex screen and cry of an unown, ? in a circle (harmful "Missingno.") moveset unknown, a normal, non-glitched screen and an unknown cry, or a bag egg.

I'd say use the TR's Rockin site mentioned above really. It's good for first-hand accounts of people who found the glitch.
