Squirtle if you are good at the game but not legendary.
Bulbasaur is easy-ish early game but bad late game. Reccommended for experts.
Charmander is hard early game, but isn't a challenge later. Reccomended for newbs.

You do know this is Fire Red. Oh yeah, and those are just rumors. Any starter is good no matter which game. If you can win, then go ahead and win. If you are bad with it, start over and choose a new one.

I'd choose :Bulbasaur: because you get Entei at the end. Entei has better stat gains than Suicune and Raikou.
Well, Timmy, aren't you being a cotton-headed ninny muggins.

I believe that the best would be bulbasaur. It's really good to have a grass type when you start out, since the firat couple gyms have grass as a weakness. For the later gyms, you can always catch pokemon to deafest them, whereas the earlier routes don't have much of a good pokemon selection.

My sister thinks that Charmander is the best starter since she started with Charmander and got Charizard.I got Sceptile and Torterra in my Pokemon Emerald and Pearl.
